Fish and Pepper Soup with Greens
Rice and Vegetables
Take out of the fridge and kitchen cabinet the products you will need: some fish sirloin (50-70 g per person, red fish is preferable), fresh parsley, fennel, basil, salt and pepper, sweet red pepper, 1 small chili pepper, rice (1 handful per person), onions (1 for 2 people), carrots (1 for 2 people), soy sauce (3 min)
Pour water into the saucepan (a glass per person) and put it on fire, put a frying pan on fire too (1 min)
Wash the carrots, pepper and greens, peel the carrots and cut them into small pieces. Put half of them into the saucepan and leave half aside (3 min)
Peel and cut the onions, put 2 table spoons of olive oil into the frying pan and put onions and the rest of carrots on it, reduce the heat (3 min)
Cut the fish sirloin and put it into the saucepan too (1 min)
Stir onions and rice in the frying pan.
Cut sweet red pepper and put half of it into the saucepan and half of it into the frying pan. (2 min)
Add a few pieces of chili pepper into the saucepan (1 min)
Put the rice into a large bowl taking 1 handful per person, wash it and let the water out of it (2 min)
(!) Tip: you can use brown rice, but it will be cooked longer
When the onion in the frying pan begin to turn brown, put the rice there and stir (1 min)
Put salt and pepper into the soup and into the rice and vegetables, add water to the rice and vegetables so that it covers the rice on 2 fingers up, stir (2 min)
Cut the greens so that you have quite a large pile and taste the carrots in the soup. If it is soft, add the greens and stir, taste if you need to add some more salt to the soup (2 min)
Extinguish the fire under the soup and let it stay for some time. Check, if you need to add water to the rice (1 min)
Lay the table, putting the tablecloth, crockery, cutlery, ladle, tureen, large dish, glasses, soy sauce and juice or water. (3 min)
Taste the rice, if it is ready. If not, wait for some more time and taste again, add salt if needed.
Put the soup into the tureen. When the rice is ready, put it into a large dish, decorate it with some leaves of parsley or fennel. (2 min)
Time needed: 27 minutes of cooking plus 5-7 minutes break for rest while the rice is ready
